sunshine moving in here, especially as we go into the afternoon. mostly clear skies this evening, going to drop those temperatures off really chilly, but for this morning we're at 60 degrees. this is pretty much where we should be now for this time of the year, right around 58. we're at 60 in aberdeen this morning. and as we look at what's going to be happening as we head through the rest of your day, well, that temperature coming in right around 70 this afternoon. let's get a check now of the abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. we do have our first accident of the day. it's in howard county right in west friendship on maries mill road at driver road. definitely watch out for that. if you are using interstate 70, fortunately there are no delays from colombia pike all the way over to 695. and as we check in and take a live look outside, here on the beltway, moving through pikesville, nothing to get in your way here at green spring avenue. this is actually going to be a shot of 95 at 395. this will also be nice and clear. as we pull up some drive times, you'll notice there are no delays on the beltway, the west side nice and clear as i had mentioned. and the outer loop no problems

traveling from 95 up to 83. that stretch will take you 11 minutes. and if you are using the northeast corridor of 95, just four minutes to travel from white marsh boulevard all the way down to 695. megan, over to you. you're waking up this morning just as the orioles are headed to bed in seattle. it took 18 innings, five hours and 44 minutes but the o's, they pulled out another win in seattle. the final score for this game 4- 2. so the o's are tied at the top of the a.l. east with the new york yankees who were rained out last night. now, the orioles will play in seattle again tonight. start time for that game 10:10. this morning police are hoping that someone can help them find a man that is accused of touching himself outside of a school in anne arundel county. county, an elementary school. abc 2 news' sherree johnson is live this morning with what parents need to know. sheree, what can you tell us? >>reporter: good morning. that's right. this morning we are here right outside of milledgeville police headquarters and basically

police are still investigating this case, trying to get people to come forward with any information about this. now, this all happened monday night at around 6:00 near seven oaks elementary school in anne arundel county while day care was still in session and community sports team still practicing, police say a man committed a lewd act. it's a very uneasy feeling for parents. surveillance cameras caught the man acting suspicious. police released these pictures of the suspect. now, school was not in session during this incident, but authorities want to find the person. county police have a new initiative called operation cotter that will deal with this type of situation. >> eyewitnesses reported seeing an individual acting a little bit strange in front of the school area, possibly even performing a lewd act. we're still investigating that. there is some surveillance footage we've released to the public right now in an attempt to identify this person. >>reporter: now, we are also told that police have surveillance video. they also have some still pictures of the suspect. if you have any information about this incident, you are asked to call anne arundel

county police at 410-222-6155. reporting live in millersville, sherree johnson, abc 2 news. baltimore city police arrested a man in connection with a shooting last week on the campus of morgan state university. 20-year-old kelly alvery is charged with with attempted murder along with assault and weapons charges too. police say this incident stems from a drug deal that occurred in the student center at morgan state. neither he nor the victim were students at that school, leading to concerns about accessible campus, how it is for students who are there versus those who are nonstudents. >> i think that certain buildings should be closed off to the general public, just for students and teachers, stuff like that. i think that part could be changed. >> the victim of this shooting still in the hospital this morning, but is said to be recovering and should be okay. a note was found with a man accused in the death of his grandparents by police and it read i am sorry for everything,

please forgive me. matthew long was found unresponsive in a hotel room in oklahoma. it appeared that he'd overdosed on drugs. now, yesterday he was moved from the hospital to a jail cell in that state. police say that long is a suspect in the death of his grandparents. vaughn and margery pepper. they were found in their pikesville home murdered. baltimore police right now trying to piece together what happened to an nih researcher that was found near his home. police say that dr. peter marvet had no enemies, he had no criminal connection, no history of any wrongdoing, so abc 2 news' linda stow right now on this story outside of police headquarters. linda, what's the latest with this? >>reporter: police are still trying to track down the gunman and a lead. they don't have much to go on right now, but they believe that marv et was shot in a robbery attempt. dr. peter marvet was found by his car, shot multiple times monday night. police say he had had just parked his car and was heading home to see his family when it happened. police were back out on the

scene on chesterfield avenue near hering run park yesterday, handing out flyers and stopping suspicious cars. marvet was an accomplished medical professional. he did his post-doctorate work at the university of maryland's school of medicine and was a clinical researcher at nih. >> he was shot near his vehicle, detectives believe that he was either entering or exiting the car and we are exploring the possibility of a robbery motive. >>reporter: now, there's a $2000 reward being offered in the case. if you have any information that could help, call metro crime stoppers at 866-7-lockup. we're live at city police headquarters, linda stow, abc 2 news. seven minutes after 5:00 right now. he's a man who spent his life protecting us. ted moyer the former sheriff of harford county has passed away. he died at the age of 83. he started with the state police after retiring as a major, and then he went on to become harford county sheriff. that was back in 1981 to 1986. a service for him will be held

at mountain christian church. that's in joppa on saturday at 11:00 in the morning. today harford county sheriff's deputies, one particular who passed away last week will be laid to rest. 43-year-old sergeant ian lockren. he died last week of a heart attack. he died at his home after attending a funeral for corporal charles lakado, another deputy who died in a car crash. lockren was a 16-year veteran of the sheriff's office and his service is at 11:00 this morning at mountain christian church in joppa. today they're going to be spraying for west nile virus. this is going to be happening in baltimore county, more specifically the community of cattensville. they're going to start tonight at 7:30 and they're going to do it again next wednesday. they'll also be spraying in the pikesville area next monday as well as october 1st. spraying there will also start at 7:30. two people have died from west nile virus in our state this year. experts do believe that this will be the worst year on record nationwide for the

spare homes damage on the inside. >> about four feet. they were actually hitting the pier and bouncing over. this front into my pier right now has been pounded loose. >> some homeowners raised their homes several feet off the ground following isabelle to keep the water out. unfortunately that wasn't something they -- fortunately that wasn't something they had to worry about yesterday. lynette, when we see a day like we saw yesterday, we worry about wind damage and also flooding. >> exactly. we got both of those yesterday, megan. we do still have a flash flood warning for fredrick county and also carroll county until 5:45 this morning. so we're going to keep our eyes peeled for that. and then we'll start to be out of the woods as we go through the rest of today. so satellite and radar picking up on still plenty of cloud cover out there this morning. but you can see that clearing line back off towards the west. that will begin to gradually move off toward the east, and then we are going to be seeing plenty of sunshine, especially by tomorrow and the day after that. but in the wake of this powerful cold front that moved through yesterday, bringing all that severe weather, we are going to be very breezy behind it and we are going to be

cooler, and also we're going to be dryer, meaning that the humidity levels are going to be going down. those dewpoints will not be in those upper 60s and safety as they were yesterday. so -- 70s as they were yesterday. so wind speed direction right now really high, especially in d.c. we're coming in with a 15 mile per hour sustained wind. along the eastern shore in easton, about an eight miles an hour sustained wind and in baltimore. look at the direction now, coming in out of the north and west, that is a dryer wind and a cooler wind and that is exactly what we're going to be seeing as we go throughout the day. temperature in aberdeen coming in right around 60 degrees. these temperatures will fall off a bit as we go through the morning and then they'll bump back up. but as we go into the afternoon, they're not going to bump up that much. i'll show you that in just a second. future trend showing you that clearing as we did through the rest of today and also tomorrow. we are going to look nice as we go into the 3:00 time frame coming in with some sun and clouds. there's that high temperature right around 72 degrees. and then as we go through your next several days here, we can see that we will be nice as we

695. actually, this is a look in hunt valley at schwan road. everything will be up to speed as you travel down towards the beltway. megan, over to you. news time right now 5:15. new research this morning signals bad news for the country's waistlines. a study says that by the year 203013 states could have obesity rates over 60%. now, this study was conducted by the trust for america's health and the robert wood johnson foundation. they used government data on obesity to make predictions about the nation's weight. some experts question the accuracy of this report, saying that it's pretty difficult to predict future weight trends. for anybody looking to lose weight now, there is a new diet drug on the market. qysmia and it basically became available yesterday, but it's only by prescription. it is only approved for patients who have a body mass index of 27% or higher, that is considered very obese and those who have at least one weight- related health condition associated with obesity.
